Accessibility statement
We want UKSpeedTest.co.uk (Pulse) to be usable by as many people as possible.
What we do
- We provide a skip-to-main-content link so keyboard and screen-reader users can jump to the test.
- Interactive elements (buttons, links) have visible focus styles so you can see where focus is when using the keyboard.
- We respect prefers-reduced-motion: we reduce or remove non-essential animation when your system requests it.
- Headings and sections are marked up so that the page structure is clear. Important information (e.g. speed result, confidence) is exposed to assistive technologies.
- We use clear, simple language and avoid relying on colour alone to convey meaning.
How to use the speed test
The test starts automatically when you load the page. You can use the keyboard to reach the Re-run button and "Show more" to see extra stats. Share and copy-link buttons are keyboard accessible. Tooltips on the (i) icons can be revealed by keyboard (focus and activate).
Limitations
We use a third-party font (Google Fonts). Some dynamic content (e.g. the live speed number) updates in real time; screen-reader users may need to re-focus or use a live region to hear updates. We are working to improve this.
